PPAW   PPAW   PPAW
Adopted Fall of 2009....Was an adult Flame Point Siamese stray that April found and brought in....

Hi,
I just thought I would send you some recent of Snowflake who is now called Frosty. He is a GREAT baby. He is very spoiled so my daughter and husband says. He loves to lay by me on the couch and watch tv. He even sleeps with me at night. I am so very happy that I adopted him. He has made a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you for letting me adopt Frosty and for all the great work that is done there.

Thank you, Frosty's mom, Vickie

Beatrix

We had two beloved black cats for 18 years - both rescued from the road side - left as trash - to fend for their little lives. When old Jack passed in December 2008, I had no desire for a kitten. One morning, I got an email from my husband with an Internet photo of a poor sad looking thing called Orange Toe- Sparkle at the PPAW Clinic in Greenback. "ARGH!" I said to myself. But thoughts about this unfortunate baby left in a card board box at a church parking lot with her blind mother ran through my head all day. That evening, we sent email and made the call. OTS entered our lives January 23, 2009.

WOW what to do with this new 6 month old Tortie baby who hid away the second she put her paws on our kitchen floor? Hours of searching yielded nothing. She was located curled under an over sized wooden tray propped in a dining room chair. We gathered her into our arms and soothed her fears. At that moment, OTS was blessed with a new name, Beatrix, queen of the house. She quickly made it her own.

Bea lives up to her royal name. Unlike Jack, who was a reserved gentleman, Beatrix is joyous! and funny! A playful delight who insists upon being the center of attention. Her round eyes shine with happiness. Her favorite toys were ping pong balls, until recently, when feathered wobble balls were gifted. You've never seen such majestic leaps. She comes to bed at night with a mouth full of feathers. Muffled squeaks announce the arrival. Sometimes her exuberant tossing of toys at 2 AM leaves us no choice but to banish her and the cherished wobble balls into the hallway.

We celebrate milestones - her unknown birth date chosen to be 08.08.08 for Chinese good luck, a red Christmas jester collar worn with pride and her adoption anniversary. The Valentines heart dress didn't go over at all, so was replaced with an orange UT collar to cheer on the Lady Vols. She sleeps in a honey comb bed by our computer when she's not trying to catch the cursor scurrying over the screen. Beatrix faux hunts birds at the feeders. Chases away the old neighborhood dog at the patio doors. Stalks deer in the side yard through the kitchen windows. Begs for Greenies to be tossed after breakfast. Reluctantly travels in a bee hive tote. Her life is good. Our life is better.

Tigger

PPAW   PPAW   PPAW
1 month after adoption:

I just wanted to give you an update now that Tigger has been with us for over a month (7/09). I don't think that either of us (Cindy & I or Tigger) could be happier. He has really become a part of the family. He will even sit with us on our screened porch of which he was originally deathly afraid! He sleeps with us at night and at least is always there in the morning when we wake up. He shows some independence by sitting in another room but always within eyesight. In addition to being very loving, he has become quite a "talker" and has the most pleasant voice. I can't thank you enough for allowing us the opportunity of adding Tigger to our family.

6 months after adoption:

Tigger has really settled into our family and we couldn't be happier. It is just amazing how comfortable he is with people! We had a Christmas party earlier this month and were able to allow Tigger just to mingle with everyone. In the past, we always put our other kitty up because crowds bothered him. Please keep doing all that you (PPAW Spay Neuter Clinic) do for the less fortunate animals in our area. We hope you all have a very blessed New Year.
